My Personal Story

On a personal note, at the time of this writing, my wife and I have been married for 32 years. We have two awesome kids, Katie, and Andrew who are my delight.

My friends find it weird that I frequently format my PC, install yet another Linux distribution, or reset my iPad or iPhone every couple of months. Not because I have to, but because I enjoy formatting, resting, and reinstalling everything. I learn something new every time. The geek in me finds it fun.

I find fulfillment in helping others, which is why I served as a Computer Customer Service representative for several years. I have been able to take what I enjoy doing and use that skill set to help others through whatever computer related issues they may be experiencing.

My Work Story

When I first started building websites, I found that I liked tinkering with code and getting things to function better than I liked making sites look pretty. Fortunately, today one doesn’t have to hold a master’s degree in Photoshop in order to deliver a very functional and yet aesthetically pleasing website, (though it does help). I am not a programmer, but I like to figure things out and find solutions to what I want to accomplish.

I have worked several contractual jobs over the years as a Customer Support representative, helping people resolve computer related issues over the phone, by e-mail, and in person. Again, this is where I found joy and personal fulfillment. I love helping other people. That may sound corny, but that’s who I am.

Although I have always used Windows and even briefly owned a Mac, Linux is where my heart truly lies. I have tried many Linux distributions over the years, in a variety of desktop environments.

I have been able to take what I enjoy doing, (tinkering with computers), and use that skill set to help others through whatever computer related problems they may be experiencing.

The articles I’ve written on this website are intended to be helpful, and I sincerely hope that you will find them to be so. If you do, please feel free to share your knowledge with others or to point them in this direction so they can read an article that will help them with their computer-related problems.
